What a drive changes is the shape of the demand
A conventional system works in bursts. The pump starts, pushes against the tank until the switch cuts out, and stops. Between bursts the well is left alone and the water level in it comes back up. The whole pattern is set by the tank and the switch. Under a heavy sustained draw a pump like that runs on too, but at ordinary household demand the well spends most of its day recovering.
A variable speed drive holds pressure flat by changing motor speed to match whatever is being drawn. At a low draw that means the pump turns slowly and keeps turning, where the older arrangement would have started and then stopped. The rate the well sees at any instant is lower. The resting periods are shorter, and at a steady draw they are gone.
Neither pattern is better in the abstract, and a well that is comfortable with one is not automatically comfortable with the other. A sustained draw settles the water level at the point where the well's recovery balances the rate of draw, and holds it there while someone is using water. If that settled level stays above the pump, the drive has room to work. If it stops short of that, a drive can find the bottom of a well that neither a tank nor a switch ever asked to be found.
What the soil survey maps at Raiford, and what it cannot tell you
The USDA soil survey maps the ground in the middle of Raiford as Pelham, and it maps it mostly in two parts: a little over half the unit as Pelham, and better than a third as Pelham in a ponded phase. Slopes of zero to one percent. The national description of that series is blunt about what it means. That is not the water a pump here works with. Residential wells across this part of North Florida are finished into the Floridan, commonly somewhere between one hundred and four hundred feet down, and what arrives at the tap arrives at a rate the aquifer sets. Ground can be standing wet at the surface while the supply far underneath it is doing something entirely unrelated.
That matters here in one specific way. Saturated ground tells you there is water about. It tells you nothing about the rate at which a well will hand water over, and rate is the whole question once a drive is asking for it continuously, hour after hour, where a tank and a switch would have asked in bursts.

Static and pumping levels are read down the well, first with the pump off, then with it running, using a sounder or an airline. Recovery is a matter of stopping the pump and timing the level back up. It is ordinary work, and it cannot be done from the driveway.
The demand side is a conversation and a walk-around the property: what is plumbed, what runs at the same time, what the household actually complains about, and at what hour. A drive quoted without both halves is a drive quoted on an assumption.

Two questions worth settling first

It will hold pressure steady at whatever the system can deliver. What it cannot do is produce water the well is not giving up. Pressure that sags the moment a second fixture opens is the kind of complaint a drive is built for, though a lost tank precharge and undersized pipe produce it too. Water that thins out after several minutes of running is a different complaint, and the first thing to take is what the level does during that run.
